My name is Tyler Coates and I was born and raised here in Lexington, SC. Although I specialize in Lexington, I also assist my clients in other areas (Lake Murray-Lexington Side, Lake Murray-Newberry Area, Lake Murray-Irmo/Chapin Side, Lake Murray-Saluda Side, Columbia, West Columbia, Chapin, Irmo, Gilbert, Blythewood,) and surrounding areas.
As a young, ambitious child, I pushed a lawn-mower around my parent’s neighborhood to make spending money. Over fifteen years later, my ambitious attitude has carried over into my career as a Realtor as I strive to serve residents of the Midlands to the best of my ability. I have always loved to work with and help people as much as I can.
While attending Lexington High School, I spent my summers working for two well-known local custom home builders in Lexington. Throughout this time I was not only able to gain an extensive amount of knowledge about proper construction, but also how important timelines are to the homeowner. I knew I had a passion for Real Estate, but also needed to continue my education to gain more knowledge and tools that would prepare me for my career. In the fall of 2007, I began to attend The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina.
After graduating from The Citadel in 2011 with an Honorable B.S. degree in Business Administration, I accepted a job with Fluor Daniel in Afghanistan working in The Project Controls Department. While working with Fluor, I was responsible for managing a section of the operational and change management budgets that would at times exceed $285 million. This made me extremely confident and knowledgeable with budgets and staying on target to ensure that the consumer remained confident in the budgets being presented.
When I returned home from Afghanistan, I worked for a local Poultry Processing Facility where I became a Shift Manager within 3 years while also breaking numerous plant records. While working in the quick, complex environment of Poultry Processing, I learned many invaluable skills in business management, and time management that would propel me to make my final transition to EXIT Real Estate Consultants.
While in Afghanistan, I rekindled a relationship with my elementary school girlfriend, who I later married in 2013. Together we enjoy spending time with our family, spoiling our two Doberman Pinschers, and enjoying all Lake Murray has to offer.
