Chapin Theatre Company presents, “Unnecessary Farce” directed by Glenn Farr. This critically acclaimed play that has received rave reviews wherever it is played, is coming to Harbison Theatre at Midlands Technical College on Thursday, September 19th through Saturday, September 28th.
Basically, there are two inexperienced police officers that try to set up a covert sting operation in two adjoining rooms of an economy motel, where they hope to entrap the town mayer in an embezzlement scheme. Of course this would all go as planned if only one of the officers and the accountant weren’t having a secret affair; if the mayor’s wife didn’t constantly interrupt; if only the mayor weren’t possibly innocent; and if only Todd, “the Highland Hit Man” hadn’t shown up with kilt and bagpipes in hand. Soon, the officers find out they’ve crossed paths with a local mafia known as the Scottish Clan, and all bets are off as they attempt to solve their case before Todd has a chance to play his pipes which means someone is about to die. Fortunately, in this case, it will be the audience dying in laughter!!
