    Collard & BBQ Festival: Gaston, SC

    Come celebrate Gaston’s 31st Annual Collard and BBQ Festival this weekend.  This year, the festival begins Friday, October, 4th at 5:00 p.m with the famous Barbeque competition. Cash prizes and other prizes will be awarded to the winners. Following the barbeque competition, there will be an  Auction that starts at 7:00 p.m and free rides for the kids to enjoy! To compete in the competition fill out application and fax to (803)-739-5793.

    The next day continues the celebration and festivities. Saturday, October 5th starting at 10:00 a.m there will be a parade followed by free rides, live entertainment, crafters, an Antique Car & Tractor display, karaoke and much more!

    Last but not least, the Gaston Collard & Barbeque festival kitchen opens at 11:30 where collard greens Mac & Cheese, Barbeque, black eyed peas, corn bread, pound cakes, and tea or lemonade will be served. For more information please visit their website BBQ Festival and Gaston, SC.

    Gaston is a small town located southwest of Columbia, SC. Gaston was incorporated into Lexington County in 1974 although the town was created back in the 1700’s and some of today’s residents’ lineage can still be traced back to that era.
