Dick Goodwin’s Big Band Concert 9/10
Come check out Dick Goodwin’s Big Band TONIGHT at the Wood Auditorium! This talented group brings you the classic sounds of the 1940’s big band music. There will be a cash bar early on with light hors d’ouevres for the grand opening of the 2013-2014 Basset Gallery season with a great exhibition from Columbia artist Claire Farrell from 5:30-7:00 p.m.Dick Goodwin is a critically acclaimed musician and a local favorite. He has composed hundreds of works ranging from jingle to opera, jazz band to symphony orchestra. In addition, he has composed multiple arrangements for the Carolina Marching Band and other groups across the country. Some of his compositions include the University of South Carolina Alma Mater, the Fight Song; “Go Carolina” in addition to composing several other school songs including Heathwood Hall, Hand Middle School, and A.C Moore.
