More Great Food, Art & Performances in the Area!

Here are a few events going on at South Carolina’s best markets:

Check out the Farmer’s Market in West Columbia where one can get all sorts of fresh produce, unique artisan items, and delicious prepared food. Get the best produce while it’s still in season, including watermelons, peaches, pecans, apples, beans, okra, and much more! If you’re looking for the less edible and more aesthetic pieces of vegetation, come to the Midlands Plant and Flower Festival on September 21 and 22 from 8:00 am – 6:00 pm and September 23 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. Click here for more information.

Join Wingard’s Market in their 12th Annual Art in the Garden, a fundraiser for Mission Lexington. Mission Lexington is an organization that supports people in need in Lexington County and is a great cause to support. This year’s theme for Art in the Garden is an “Evening in Chicago”, with music from Chicago Rewired, a premier Chicago tribute band. Their music will be sure to keep you entertained all night as they imitate the classic tunes of Chicago. Food and beverage will also be provided from varying sources, including The Melting Pot, Vienna Beef Chicago Style Hotdogs, Chef Drew Thompson’s Shrimp & Grits, Clara & Rays Italian Restaurant, and Hudson’s Barbecue. The tickets are $40 and include dinner, drink, and entertainment. The featured artists include Margie Bach, Stacy Morgan, Gretchen Parker, Karen Petta, Melony Stuckey, and Margaret Vetter. Make sure to attend this relaxing evening with friends on September 21, from 6:30 pm – 10:30 pm. Click here for more information.

Here a couple shows that are still preforming, so be sure to see them before they’re gone:

The Schoolhouse Rock Live! is based off an Emmy Award-winning cartoon show that educated kids through music. This performance tells the story of a anxious teacher, Tom, who wants to do great on his first day. To relax, he watches TV only to find that different characters come out of the TV and show him how to be a great teacher for his students. The Schoolhouse Rock Live! will be preforming on Saturday, September 22 at 10:30 am, 2:00 pm, and 7:00 pm as well as Sunday at 3:00 pm at the Columbia Children’s Theater. Get your tickets here!

Will Tony and Maria’s love for one another make it against all odds? Come and find out at the Town Theater, where performances will be held on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 3 pm all the way through September 30th.
