Come to the Saluda Shoals Park this weekend to participate in a fun and exciting teamwork challenge!
This teamwork challenge race combines mountain
biking (5 miles), trail running (2.5 miles), and paddling
(1 mile). Teams must complete each section of the course together and cross the finish line as a team! Whether you’re a veteran or a first time adventure racer, everyone competes on the same playing field, enhancing the camaraderie and sportsmanship.
Each team must provide the following equipment for each team member: Mountain bike, helmet, running gear, and equipment for the transition area (water bottles, ice, food, first aid kit…etc.) Matching team shirts are encouraged! Canoes, paddles, life jackets and race bibs will be provided. Unique trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each division. For more information, please check out Splash & Dash!
This Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 8:30 a.m. Teams will be required to set up bike equipment at the staging area between 7:00–8:00 a.m. There is a a mandatory pre-race briefing at 8:00 a.m. at Saluda Shoals Park Cattail Shelter.
Even if you’re not interested in participating yourself, bring some friends and cheer on these inspiring individuals!!
Saluda Shoals Park is located right off of Bush River Road. Saluda Shoals is a nice outdoor escape from the fast-paced city life that you encounter in Columbia. The Saluda River is one of the largest rivers in the state and provides for one of a kind outdoor recreation and a great R&R destination.
