    Starting Off September

    Paddle through the cool blue waters as nature’s beauty unfolds around you in a gorgeous scene of sunsets, sparkling water, and serenity. Saluda Shoals offers multiple opportunities to canoe or kayak across Lake Murray or the Saluda River. Paddle and Pint is an event where one can paddle along the Saluda River for about an hour and then proceed to taste a selection of craft beers. Paddle and Pint will be held on September 7 from 5:30 – 7:30. On a different trip—Sunset on the Shoals—you will also paddle on the Saluda River, hear the history of the surrounding area and taste wine at the River Overlook. Participants will be gifted with a complimentary wine glass. This event will be on September 21, from 5:30 – 8:30. For both Paddle and Pint and Sunset on the Shoals, the cost is $37 and all attendees should be 21 or older. On the final event of the season, Moonlight on the Murray, one can expect to paddle across Lake Murray and enjoy the beautiful scenery as the day disappears into the night. The trip is on September 23, is $30 per person, and is available for all ages. These are the last paddling trips of the year so you really don’t want to miss them!     Are you a fan of the show Wild ’n Out? Well now you don’t have to watch it on the TV…now you can watch it live! This event will present some of the favorite cast members from Wild ’n Out, audience-included game segments, and live music performances from popular hip-hop stars. The crew includes Nick Cannon, Rip Micheals, Hitman Holla, Conceited, Justina Valentine, Iamzoie, Charlie Clips, Emmanuel Hudson, DC Young Fly, Chico Bean and DJ D-Wrek. The show will be on Sunday, September 9 at 8:00 pm, but the doors open at 7:00 pm at the Colonial Life Arena. Click here for tickets.


    If you’re looking for a bunch of bargains, come to the Big Grab Yard Sale. This yard sale is sure to be the biggest one you’ve ever seen, stretching across a total of 50 miles. Along this figure-eight loop, a variety of vendors will be selling everything you could possibly think of, all for the lowest prices. The vendors will be spread out along the route, some in groups and others scattered individually so be sure to travel the whole sale so you don’t miss anything!     Yet another great shopping excursion is available on September 7-8 with a variety of crafts and food available for sale. Fine arts, glass works, wood, ceramics, and fabric crafts will be sold by skillful artisans. This is a perfect opportunity to get some holiday shopping done for friends and family. Once you get hungry from all your shopping, grab a bite to eat from delicious vendors and enjoy a variety of sweet treats and savory meals.
