    Things to do in Columbia Aug 13 2017 – Aug 16 2017

Let the country music sway you into relaxation before the busy week starts. Come and see country artist, Dustin Huff, preform at the Frayed Knot Bar & Grille on Sunday, August 13. Huff has been submersed in music since he was a kid, traveling with his dad’s band, learning the guitar and writing his own songs. Eventually he decided to try and make a career out of it and moved to Nashville at a young age of 19. Since then, he has produced popular songs “Comin’ Back Home”, “Rebels Like Me”, and most recently “A Little Summertime”. So enjoy the voice of Dustin Huff as he sings the night away and perhaps grab a bite from the restaurant’s delicious menu while one’s at it. Click here for more information.

For some, Sunday evenings are not the best times to and stay out late. Fortunately, the Frayed Knot Bar & Grille provides a similar, alternate opportunity. Yet another great country singer will be performing at this restaurant. Matt Chase is country to his very roots, growing up surrounded by southern traditions and listening to the classic country singers over the radio. He learned to play guitar and eventually wrote his own songs. Chase currently lives in Nashville, producing songs such as his new single “Catch Girl”. He also writes songs for other artists. These songs include “Rundown Town”, “Just Enough”, “Back For More” and “My Kind of People”. Chase will be performing at 9:00 pm on Saturday, August 12. Click here for more information.

If you’re not in the mood for country or you simply don’t want to go to the Frayed Knot Bar & Grille, come and listen to the superb harmonies and sounds of the Wild Reeds. The Wild Reeds are an indie folk and rock band originally founded in Los Angeles. They are composed of three talented female vocalists, a bassist and a drummer. The three females write their own songs and collectively use their voices to create a sound unique to their band. They have released two albums, Blind and Brace as well as The World We Built, that have been very successful. They have also toured and opened for other successful performers. They will be playing at the New Brookland Tavern in West Columbia on Wednesday, August 16 at 7:00 pm. Tickets are ten to thirteen dollars and are selling fast! Click here for more information.
