    The Firsts of Fall

Are you in the mood for a set of southern fixin’s? Come to the Gaston Collard and BBQ Festival and enjoy all of the classic, southern foods. This includes the state vegetable, collards, barbecue, corn bread, black-eyed peas, mac n’ cheese and pound cake. The celebration is perfect for a family excursion, with a parade, antique cars, live entertainment, and free rides available for all ages. If you’re feeling competitive, join the barbecue cook-off and see if your recipe is the best! This is a well-run event, starting in 1982, and assures great times for all that attend. The festival is on October 7, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at 131 N Carlisle Street, Gaston SC, 29053. Click here for more information.

There will also be free mini-massages and a cardio class demonstration. The event spans from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Click here for more information.

Come to a wonderful celebration at Wingard’s Nursery, the 50th Anniversary Art in the Garden XI event. During this event, the Beatles Tribute Band, “The Return”, will perform music from “the Summer of Love”. The Return is a world-renowned band whose every word and action resembles that of the Beatles. Hudson’s Smokehouse, Ray’s Pizzeria, and Salsarita’s will also provide food. There will be drinks from Palmetto Wine & Spirits as well as Pepsi. All of this is included in the $40 purchase of a ticket. This event helps support Lexington Interfaith Community Services, or LICS, who provides food for those are hungry or in need of food. The event is from 6:30 pm-10:30 pm on October 6. Come and enjoy a beautiful Friday night to celebrate and support a great cause. Click here for more information.
