The History of The Elmwood Park Community

Elmwood Park is a residential community that was purchased in 1903 by the Richland Real Estate Company. The land was originally owned by W.A. Clark and it was at one time the home of the Old State Fair Grounds in Columbia. When purchased by the real estate company, the land was transformed into a subdivision community and sold into lots for homes to be built on. The first plot of land was sold in January of 1904 to Mrs. Annie Boozer.

These schools include Logan Elementary School which is supported with regular fundraising events by the Elmwood Park Education Committee.
